Whats a good reason students should check their school email?

Most universities only send email to school accounts and not other email accounts, so if you want email from professors or the institution you better check your school account!

I never used my college email address because I never got anything. Half the time the server would be down, and other times it would be slow.





However, one good reason is that you may have someone who found you though the college directory might want to reach you. I asked not to be put into the directory but they did it anyways. Though my college email address which was showing both my first and middle inital, and my last name, with the combination of my first and last name in the directory someone found me that I've not seen since I was 5. I thought the guy was dead; I didn't want this person to have contact with me. However, in your case it could be an old friend. Hard to say.
Reply:the school is constantly sending information to your school e-mail, be it from the school itself or even from your teachers. I check mine regularly and it helps because I'm involved in on-campus activities and I prefer them to go to my school e-mail rather than my yahoo, where it could get lost in all my junkmail.
Reply:Because if an emergency would arise in your campus, the school notifies students via their school email. So if there is some sort of emergency in your school (ie powerloss, trespasser and worst case scenario a school shooting) you will be notified via email.

also, if you arent allowed to acces normal email in skl, u can chat to friends via skl email while in class
