Why is there a clicking sound whenever i check my email?

Could it be spyware or some virus??Please help!

Why is there a clicking sound whenever i check my email?
it depends on the email really. you just need to go to options in any email and look for sounds, or anything relavent to that and switch it off..... if that does do anything, then it your windows settings and need to "disable" it by going in to your control panel and access your sounds and audio and you have the option to change or disable many options like mice sounds or anything like that ....And to answer the question fully it's . a default setting that manufacturers have installed just to let people know if there using is correct or not. IT NOT SPAM OR VIRUSES NO WAIT ITS ALL IN YOUR HEAD WAT CLICKS (HAHA) JUST KIDDING FOR REAL THOUGH any problems email me johnhunter48@fastmail.co.uk
Reply:If you're using Yahoo! Mail Beta on Internet Explorer, those clicks you are hearing are indicator sounds Internet Explorer provides to tell you each time a server is being contacted for something, and you can turn them off.

1. Click Start on your desktop and select Control Panel.

2. From this list, pick Sounds and Audio Devices (for Windows XP) or Sounds and Multimedia Properties (for Windows 2000). A dialog window opens.

3. From the tabs across the top, select Sounds.

4. Scroll down and you will find a category called Windows Explorer. The last item under this heading is Start Navigation. Click this to highlight it.

5. In the box just below this, called Sounds, open the pop-up menu and scroll to the top and choose (None).

6. Click the OK button to close the dialog window.
Reply:No, I don't think it's spyware or anything like that. It would just be IE. No problem.
Reply:Are you checking it through Internet Explorer? If so, the clicking is when your are changing pages. It's perfectly normal.
Reply:not sure why the sound is happening but to check for spyware get adaware
