How can I check the status of a sent email?

I would like to know if someone has received or read an email that I have sent.

How can I check the status of a sent email?
on myspace there is a way to look in your "sent" folder and see if your messages have a "sent", "read", "replied" or "deleted" status to them. and many email service providers (although never the free ones like yahoo) have email confirmation, this is a message that gets sent to your computer on the instant a message is opened.

however, depending on the email address you sent it from, especially if its yahoo, theres no exact way to trace if someone got your message unless you get a response or reply from the person that sent you the message. (but thats the slow way.)

theres always snail mail! the post office will get a signature of the person you are sending the letter to for an extra $1.60.

these and many other features are almost never free. you cannot expect to use a free service and still be able to use all the benifits of a service you would normaly be paying for.

yahoo does have a premium package where you pay time something like less than $20 a year, and they up your inbox size, they give you the option of setting up your email to send and automatic email if you request it to giving everyone that sends you an email saying whatever you want, and if you so choose, where you went, and when you'll be back.

a pop3 email program can do this automaticly for you, but you can only use your yahoo account on a pop3 program if you pay the extra fees.

sorry i couldent help you out further! if you'd like to read more about upgrading your yahoo account, go here:

Reply:When you send it you can request a read receipt. That is no guarantee that they will allow it to send.

There is no other way. If you have to know for a legal reason send it certified mail with return signature. It costs about six bucks.
