Can you check email on iTouch without Wi-Fi?
You need Wi-Fi to get your email messages from the iPod. If you stop in a store that has free Wi-Fi and download your messages, your iPod will keep those new messages in it's memory. Hope this answers your question.

Try going to places with hotspots (places with free wifi) so you can check your email.
