Why does my yahoo mail checker not check my email?

I downloaded the Yahoo widgets program a few weeks ago and for a while it checked my email just fine. I could right click and tell it to check email and it would tell me how many I had.





Now no matter what whenever I click it tells me I have 0 new messages, when I know that I have emails (I've sent myself test emails)

Install New Version Of Yahoo Tool Bar

Install New Version Of Messenger

Remove Old Version First





click start (on the blue bar at the bottom of your screen)


then control panel


then add and remove programs


yahoo messenger and tool bar will be at the bottom


choose remove





Set Up Sounds And Visual Alerts





to make sure the sound option is set up


at the top of messenger click messenger


then preferences


then alerts and sounds


put check beside this option


when you get a message


click the envelope at bottom of the screen to read your email

Reply:This is becauser Yahoo is having problems and they are working on getting it fixed. My alerts come and go. Some get a high count for incoming mail when there isn't any at all.
