How can my friends check their email from my computer?

If you are connected to internet go to Yahoo/ mail web site . Have friend "sign in" to their account by typing their Email ID name and password. If they don't have a yahoo /mail account, I suggest they get one by registering for it by going thru Yahoo's home page to mail. I not only have retrieved my mail from friends' computers but public computers such as libraries , and other towns and even different countries when I travel. Its easy to do,efficient, and can be counted on.

Of course, some other mail servers offer simlar services and there are others that do not. With experience using "other"mail servers, I still consider Yahoo the best.

How can my friends check their email from my computer?
you go to say if they had aol you just go to aol.com and click on mail same with yahoo and most other email

i hope i helped
Reply:sign out then let them sign in with there email name and pass. be shure not to save there pass and let them sign out then you can sign in again....
Reply:they need to put their username %26amp; password into your pc and it will go to their e-mail good luck and have a nice day.
Reply:Go to the sign in page and delete your user name and password. They can then type in their sign on info and access their own email. Be sure their account is signed out though or you may just find yourself in their email account instead of your own.

Why does my toolbar show that I have unread email messages but when I check my mail, it shows no unread msgs?

Sometimes my toolbar will show a certain number of unread messages, but where it says inbox on the left side it shows a different number, and the inbox tab that is open shows no unread messages. Why? Am I not getting some of my emails? I've tried logging out and waiting to log back in, but this doesn't always work. I have also tried deleting cookies and those sort of things... Any ideas?

Mine does the same things and then seems to get it right after a bit. I think it just doesn't always update like it should.
Reply:Go into the Inbox and back out. Hit 'refresh". Empty any unread messages in your trash...

How can I check the IPs that log in to my email (gmail, yahoo) account?

I am concerned with matters of security. I am almost certain that someone or some persons are regularly logging into my gmail account and I would like to trace their IPs. I guessed, from a logical point of view, that the services of gmail and yahoo must have a way to record the IPs signing in and that is the information I would like to access.

How can I check the IPs that log in to my email (gmail, yahoo) account?
Gmail doesn't give that info out...although you are right, they will have logs. You will have to contact them directly. Even then, I doubt that they will give you the IP addresses of other logins to your account, they will just offer to block those IP's.

Best of luck!
Reply:the easiest way round this is to change your password, you will need to email/ speak to gmail or yahoo customer service to identify the IP addresses, i doubt if they'll give them to you though.

Check my email on this computer?

I am at the public library and I wanted to check my email from this computer. Also I just noticed a caucasion male standing over me reading my information that I have, my ID and passcode. What should I do concerning both of these issues?

Change your password! Now!
Reply:If you are in the Library, getting your e-mail, be very careful that no one sees your id and password. Ask anyone, standing behind you, to move. Just be polite about it, and if they don't, notify the Librarian. They will take care of it.

With Identity theft, rampant these days, you must take all the care you can to protect yourself. So don't be afraid to stand up for yourself, it's your privacy that matters.
Reply:Switch off and report him immediatley
Reply:Tell him "excuse me" and carry on. If you can type without looking at the keyboard, that's good- you can turn around and stare at him awkwardly while you log in.
Reply:Since you can't pull the wires out of the back of the computer and throw the monitor at this guy, I'd suggest finding a nice thick book and winging it his way. He should move. If he doesn't, he won't really be looking your way any longer. He'll be starring at both of the ceilings wondering what just happened. I'd suggest checking your email quickly, and getting out of there before he really comes to.

Also, it would be a lot funnier if you signed the little card inside the book as "Creepy guy deterrent" before throwing it at him.

And when you're your finished working on a secure site, such as email, never forget to log out when you are finished. This will usually prevent the system from retaining your log in and password. After you've logged out, always go back to the log in page and make sure the site didn't remember your password.

And, if you want to make sure you're really not being spied on, always check the back of the computer. Inspect the PS/2 and USB slots for one of these fun little devices:

Reply:tell him to go away!
Reply:Tell him to go away and change your password NOW!!!
Reply:TELL HIM GO AWAY, BUT DONT CHECK YOUR MALE IF HE IS CLOSE TO YOU.
Reply:For one, tell him politely to leave you alone =P

Secondly, it depends if your email is normal internet mail like hotmail or yahoo, then yes you can. If it is an email that is used with an email client(actually POP mail accounts) like outlook or mozilla thunderbird, then maybe not
Reply:tell them to go away, you ned your privacy as a user of that computer...

change your username and password too

just incase they're planning to open your account...
Reply:i don't know....Buy a computer so you don't have to use the public ones?
Reply:As soon as you can, go into your email account settings and change your password to a new one. That should take care of it.

My recommendation would be to not access your personal email in a public library setting unless absolutely necessary.

If needed, make sure that a) noone is indeed watching your info and b) make sure when you log in that you avoid that the computer saves user-id or password information.

Most webmail providers such as Yahoo or Hotmail have options to check or uncheck on their login-page.

But first, change you password to something different, different enough that it cannot be derived or guessed from your old one.
Reply:Tell him that it is in-polite to watch you type and you would prefer the person to stop because you feel uncomfortable of what he is doing.
Reply:keep your email addy change your passwords and if he emails you list it as junk email spam or something else and tell him to go away
Reply:Read your mail, change your password ( when he'snt still reading over your shoulder) and exit.
Reply:I'm a computer professional with a concentration in security. I suggest that you turn around and ask if you can help him. That should at least acknowledge you and then walk away. Then I would leave that terminal and go use another that keeps him in front of you. Then immediately change your password.

I cant go to my mailbox to check my email?

every time i try to check my email norton symantec will stop me.

I cant go to my mailbox to check my email?
I am assuming that you have set up your firewall to prevent email traffic (you don't say if you are using the web interface or an email client like Microsoft Outlook) from coming in and out. You will have to change the settings/permissions to allow. Here are the directions from the Symantec website:

How to check if someone has opened the email i send to him or not yet ?

hi all,

i send alot of emails everyday , and just want to make sure that all of my emails "get opened".

anyidea how , i use gmail email (google)

thanks

How to check if someone has opened the email i send to him or not yet ?
The best way is to ask Google for this issue. As far as I know, it is not possible while using web interface. However, if you are using Outlook then there is a feature there, where you will get a return email telling the email has been read by the user. Whats more you will also be able to know that the email has delivered to the recipient.
Reply:You can setup gmail to work with Outlook. There is an option in Outlook that allows you to do that. If you have an email account provided by your ISP there may be an option that allows it in there as well. You can also setup Outlook to work with other POP3 accounts.
Reply:No email service is going to tell you if people open the email you send, this would be a violation of privacy.
Reply:gmail does not have the feature.

the feature you are looking for is 'Read Receipt'
