If you are connected to internet go to Yahoo/ mail web site . Have friend "sign in" to their account by typing their Email ID name and password. If they don't have a yahoo /mail account, I suggest they get one by registering for it by going thru Yahoo's home page to mail. I not only have retrieved my mail from friends' computers but public computers such as libraries , and other towns and even different countries when I travel. Its easy to do,efficient,and can be counted on.
Of course, some other mail servers offer simlar services and there are others that do not. With experience using "other"mail servers, I still consider Yahoo the best.

Why does my toolbar show that I have unread email messages but when I check my mail, it shows no unread msgs?
Sometimes my toolbar will show a certain number of unread messages, but where it says inbox on the left side it shows a different number, and the inbox tab that is open shows no unread messages. Why? Am I not getting some of my emails? I've tried logging out and waiting to log back in, but this doesn't always work. I have also tried deleting cookies and those sort of things... Any ideas?

How can I check the IPs that log in to my email (gmail, yahoo) account?
I am concerned with matters of security. I am almost certain that someone or some persons are regularly logging into my gmail account and I would like to trace their IPs. I guessed, from a logical point of view, that the services of gmail and yahoo must have a way to record the IPs signing in and that is the information I would like to access.

Gmail doesn't give that info out...although you are right, they will have logs. You will have to contact them directly. Even then, I doubt that they will give you the IP addresses of other logins to your account, they will just offer to block those IP's.

After you've logged out, always go back to the log in page and make sure the site didn't remember your password.
And, if you want to make sure you're really not being spied on, always check the back of the computer. Inspect the PS/2 and USB slots for one of these fun little devices:

It may not be the OS. I've had some trouble with hotmail too, I guess they are switching to a new service called Live.com. You can still use hotmail, but you have to go to a different URL

In yahoo mail, just hit the forward button on the opened e-mail. Above the line for the address you will see in small blue font add addresses, or something like that. Click on this and your address will come up in a different window, if you have any stored!
BTW: it's forward not forware. A click on the spell check button will eliminate this kind of silly mistake!

If a domain name expires, can you still check your email?
Apparently my host sucks, they were supposed to transfer my domain to their service and never did. It expired, and many important emails from the last 5 days didnt get to me, is there any chance of ever seeing them again? I have alot of pissed off customers.

I am trying to create a short simple form in the body of my email. I am using check boxes so that the recipients can fill out the form by "checking" their response. Reply:Not 100%. Email doesn't work that way. Outlook has the option to "Request Receipt confirmation" but the user doesn't have to respond. Email is just like regular mail. The mailman can deliver it, but its up to the user to open it.

So you can only view cookies and if you know how to read cookes you can see what has been searched on your PC.

Why does my yahoo mail checker not check my email?
I downloaded the Yahoo widgets program a few weeks ago and for a while it checked my email just fine. I could right click and tell it to check email and it would tell me how many I had.
Now no matter what whenever I click it tells me I have 0 new messages, when I know that I have emails (I've sent myself test emails)

My boss does not let us check our personal email at work. I have been using a proxy for email/surfing. Do you?

However, your bigger concern is that you are using one of the thousands of proxy's run by hackers and that you have infected your entire workplace with software that allows the hackers to use your bosses computers for their hacking and credit card fraud. Think FBI at your door one day. There is a reason this stuff is blocked.
If you want to check your mail form work get yourself a laptop with an EVDO card, or an iPhone or similar and do it on your dime.

However, in this case since you have already opened up this email which is a probably a variant of the 419 Nigerian phishing scheme, display all headers and send it to Fraud Watch International. The email address is in the link to the webpage below.

Reply:those are major scams. if the e-mail came from some place other than a yahoo or msn address, just take the sender name and @ symbol off and put the rest in your web address bar. if it brings up nothing, that's a sure way to tell if it's a scam. also, since they are asking you to fill out a document such as a W-9, you can be certain they will be next telling you that their financial attorneys need just a little more info... your bank routing number, account number, and SSN... just to varify who you are. personally, if they don't know who you are from the beginning, since they are the ones who said YOU won the money, there is something really wrong. also, since they said they were from a specific agency... the Canada Lottery Super 7... you can run that through the better business bureau. i have gotten many e-mails like this, as well as instant messages on both yahoo and msn, saying that i was either a winner of some sort, or the last ditch effort to award some enheiritance that needs to go to someone, since the person who died had no next of kin. those ones are a little more tricky, though, as you can google the name of the dead person and find out that they were quite rich and are also quite dead.

5. Does the company give legitimate contact information, including a phone number, website, physical address, and a source where past lottery winners can be listed? (By law, the names of all lottery winners must be made public information. If you can't find any past winners, there's no such lottery).
6. Are they asking you to send them money for "processing fees?" Don't. It's an attempt to access your bank account information so they can take the money, not put it in. A company that truly has $1 million to give away is perfectly capable of subtracting any "processing fees" from whatever prize they want to give you.
If even one of the above apply, you can rest assured that your letter is not true and a total sham. Just delete it or toss it in the trash.

You will probably need to upgrade to Windows Mail (if you were using outlook before). You can do this by going to ACCOUNTS and clicking IMPORT and then choosing your account file used in Outlook. It should work the same.

Does The Wi-Fi In The Zune Let The User Go On The Internet Or Check Email?
You cannot go online or check email. The wifi is used to sync wirelessly and to share pictures and music between Zune,
Zunes have do not have touch screens yet.

In Microsoft Outlook, is there a way to check to see if someone has opened an email you sent?
I don't mean creating the setting where you get notification when someone opens it. I want to look in my "Sent" box and see if the message has been viewed by the recipient. Thanks!

nope.
you have to RECEIVE the report, therefore, you can't see it in your SENT. reports arrive in your inbox, unless you create a rule that automatically sends receipts to your sent box

I know you can get a browser for the nintendo ds and surf the web but not sure about the psp

yes but you need a wireless network available to connect to. PSP is a wifi enabled device so hit the wifi switch on and connect to surf the internet. the browser is ok screen size is small but yes ive checked email etc on the psp eve on the yahoo site it does the job.

What is non personal email? You change Yahoo mail accounts by signing off and then signing in with the proper ID.

Can I ask my internet provider to check if someone other than me has checked my email?
I asked a similar question earlier, but had a follow-up question.

Well he would have to know your password etc. They might be able to tell you if several different computers are checking it. The easiest thing for you to do is to see the last "log-in time" They display that in some microsoft office formats etc. I don't think you can check that out in yahoo? But if a log-in time is listed you can just randomly check through-out the day and tell if somebody has "logged-in" when you were busy working etc. Then you know it's somebody other than you. Who it is might be a problem to prove.
I have heard of several women who thought it was an ex logging in only to discover that it was a close "friend" who is a busy-body,
Reply:Certainly you can. ISP's maintain detailed logs showing each time your e-mail is checked, and it also shows the name and SS number of the person doing the checking. Call your ISP and ask for a printout of all your "e-mail checker" logs. If possible, let us know what they said.

How do I get spell check to check every email I send out without having to click on it every time?
Unfortunately that is not an option in the free version of Yahoo Mail.
Why do i have to sign in everytime i check email?
It's for your own security, if you sign out when you are finished then you need to sign in to access it. The signing in for 2 weeks hasn't been working for most lately.
